THE words of Peter aptly set the stage for our exhortation. He succinctly outlines the duties that wives bear to their husbands, whilst at the same time enjoining upon husbands their deep obligation to dwell peaceably with their partners, granting the honour due to them because they are "heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered" (1 Pet. ). Titus Parallel Verses [⇓ See commentary ⇓] Titus , NIV: "so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life." Titus , ESV: "so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus , KJV: "That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.".

This book makes it possible to comfortably dig deep into this portion of scripture. The outlines help focus the discussion on how we, as heirs of the grace of life, experience this grace as we struggle with love – its growth, challenges and triumphs. Although we are sinners and live in a broken world, by God’s grace it is possible for a man. weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. Verse seven begins with the words all of you likewise. Just as the wife has a role of submission to the Lord and to her husband, so the husband is to be in submission to the Size: KB.

Wives husbands being heirs together of the grace of life. (1 Peter7) It is unlike anything else on the face of the planet.

I’m speaking of the unique dynamic in Jesus Christ that is released when a married couple recognizes the power of their agreement in prayer.

And as being heirs together of the grace of life; rather, rendering honor as to those who are also fellow-heirs, or, according to another well-supported reading, rendering honor (to them) as being also fellow-heirs (with them). The sense is not materially affected: husband and wife are joint-heirs of the grace of life, that is, of God's gracious gift of everlasting life.

Our spiritual health and growth is assured, and we become “heirs together of the grace of life.” The word “heir” denotes a joint participant, or one who receives a possession with another. Our godly inheritance is “the grace of life,” a fruitful life here and for eternity with the Lord.

Being heirs together of the grace of life, each of you is bound to be uniformly, decidedly, eminently devoted to God and the Redeemer. The same consideration should operate. HEIRS TOGETHER OF THE GRACE OF LIFE "Heirs together of the grace of life." 1 Peter This marks my relationships to the Christian household, in connection with my future hope.

But it is especially my relationship to those on earth. Here we are heirs together of the grace of life. The grace of life is the gift of life eternal. Being heirs together (or co-heirs) of the grace of life Some copies have “of manifold grace;” others, instead of “life,” have the word “living.” Some read “co-heirs” in the dative case, which makes no difference in the sense.

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

NLV In the same way, husbands should understand and respect their wives, because women are weaker than men. There are two pieces of knowledge that he gives us about our wives in this verse. One, he says that they are weaker vessels, and two he says that they are heirs together of the grace of life.

And so Peter is saying that how husbands live with their wives should be informed with this knowledge. The phrase "συγκληρονόμοις χάριτος ζωῆς" (fellow heirs of [the] grace of life) in this passage is very interesting. The apostle Paul elsewhere uses συγκληρονόμος to indicate that children of God are "fellow heirs" with Christ (Romans ), so it is certainly possible that eternal life is the meaning here.

In fact, according to the Lord’s plan, our marriage can become a springboard to greater spiritual development, higher consciousness, and enhanced creative expression.(3) We can learn, with a deeper penetration into the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to live together in a state of continuous love and positive energy that exceeds our expectations.
